Information security is not an IT issue, it is a BUSINESS issue.

“We have somebody who does that.” Does what, you say? Let me give you some context. Stick with me.

Being the President of a company, I have the honor of meeting with and talking to a lot of other business leaders. I don’t take this honor lightly. Usually when I meet people, we start our conversation off with idle chit-chat. I ask them what they do for a living and about their company. They ask me about my job and my company. Early on the confusion sets in.

The conversation might go something like this:

Them – “Hi, my name is Joe. What’s yours?”
Me – “My name is Evan Francen, from FRSecure.”
Them – “Oh really? What do you do?”
Me – “FRSecure is an information security consulting company.”
Them – “We have somebody who does that.”
