Physical Security Controls Assessment

Physical security controls are commonly referred to as those controls which "can be touched".

Risks are identified and accounted for within the following areas or physical security:
  • Facility Construction
  • External Security
  • Access to the Facility
  • Visitor Access
  • Surveillance Cameras
  • Security Personnel
  • Loading and Delivery Areas
  • Office Areas
  • Datacenter/Restricted Areas
  • Environmental Controls
  • Property Removal
  • Destruction Practices

Where there are gaps, assign metrics

Metrics are assigned to each control and aggregated to create a "Risk Rating". The metrics used are:
  • Level of Effectiveness ("LOE") - a measure of control quality and maturity,
  • Likelihood of an adverse event or threat, and
  • The potential Impact suffered by the organization

Compile results, summarize and report findings

Our analysis and reporting is second to none. Sample deliverables are available upon request so that you can see the difference for yourself.

Partial Physical Security Controls Guide

THIS GUIDE ONLY SERVES AS A SAMPLE TO GIVE THE READER A GENERAL INDICATION OF DEPTH AND SCOPE.

The actual number, type, and purpose of the questions used in the assessment are dictated by the interviews and other information gathering exercises.

Physical Security Overview

The purpose of this section is to provide information regarding the various aspects of physical security and the general control environment at the facility being reviewed. If a satellite facility is included as part of a review, then a physical security overview should be conducted for both the primary facility and the satellite facility. An introductory paragraph describing the location of the facility including the geographic location, surroundings and whether or not the organization is located in a shared facility should start the overview.
